Taylor Smith
Hey, I am Taylor!
Hi, I'm Taylor (They/Them)
I'm a graphic designer, illustrator and printmaker based in Leicester.
I love to create bold, eye catching work and experiment with different techniques and media. I like to combine printmaking techniques within my digital graphic design work to make something that really stands out.
#Make_The_NHS_
Accessible
From bad wheelchair access, lack of disability awareness and ableist staff - disabled people face huge barriers when accessing NHS healthcare. Healthcare is a basic human right - something has to change.
Awareness is essential to drive change. This poster series features 8 first-hand accounts of these from disabled people across the country. These are paired with hand-carved lino prints to illustrate their stories.
The printable access cards allow you to call out these issues and drive real-world change; simply print them off and stick them up whenever you see an access issue.

Cyanotype - In The Sun
A brief set by 'Next' required us to create hand-crafted textile surface designs for use in a Spring/Summer collection.
I was inspired by the process of cyanotype - a traditional printmaking technique that uses UV light to expose objects over photosensitive paper. The result is a vibrant blue releif print. I took photos of shells to create negatives which were then exposed made into prints and patterns.
The line is themed around beach days and holidays in the sun. The pattern on the swimwear changes colour between blue and yellow between temperature changes throughout the day.

ReStitch
ReStitch was the identity and packaging I made for a fictional brand that aims to reduce the environmental impact of the fast-fashion industry.
The key concept is a pop-up shop selling slightly damaged clothing - alongside repair kits. The pop-up is aimed at uni students who are living away from home for the first time. This enables people to learn to repair their clothing instead of buying new and prevents the damaged items from ending up in landfill. Sustainable fashion doesn't have to be boring!
